Sound installation for “Sugababe” by Diemut Strebe, on exhibition at the ZKM (Museum für Neue Kunst geschlossen | Museum for Contemporary Art), Karlsruhe, Germany, May 30-July 6, 2014. The SuperCollider-based sound installation simulates auditory nerve spike trains in response to sounds picked up by a microphone and sonifies them. The sound accompanies the presentation of a pinna in vitro that was tissue-engineered from genetic material of descendants of the Dutch painter van Gogh. Sound installation for “Sugababe” by Diemut Strebe, on exhibition at the ZKM (Museum für Neue Kunst geschlossen | Museum for Contemporary Art), Karlsruhe, Germany, May 30-July 6, 2014. The SuperCollider-based sound installation simulates auditory nerve spike trains in response to sounds picked up by a microphone and sonifies them. The sound accompanies the presentation of a pinna in vitro that was tissue-engineered from genetic material of descendants of the Dutch painter van Gogh.
